Neil Anderson, ‘Runningman’ is devoting a year’s worth of running events to raise funds for us, and has his own website. Or you can go straight to Donate.

Jim McIntosh , our Airborne man in Dubai,  tabbed the 75km 2012 Wadi Bih marathon in Oman on Feb 10th.

This is a team event for 5, but Jim did it in true Airborne style as a solo self sufficient runner,   ‘carrying all the supplies I require on my back with a starting weight of about 40lbs’. Here he is finishing the 2010 event.

Antony Keyworth is running an awesome round of events in 2012 including the Hull Marathon in boots and 35lb pack, Paras 10 P Coy, Tough Guy, Nettle Warrior  and Total Warrior .

Martin Chester  did a cross trainer marathon on 20 December. ‘I attended the Regiments medal ceremony earlier this year after the lads returned from Afghanistan and one thing that stood out for me was the injured lads, they attended the medal ceremony despite having limbs missing, having prosthetic limbs fitted and confined to wheel chairs, I didn’t hear one of them complain and they are as proud and professional now as ever. In keeping with tradition and competition from my oldest son who is in the Regiment himself I decided to push myself to the limit and try this crazy stunt.

Karl Holland ex 3PARA and Red Devil ran the Bath Half Marathon in March 2012 and raised over £300

Adam Lloyd
tabbed the Coniston Lakeland Trails Marathon in July with 35lb bergen.

‘The day of the marathon was very wet which made the marathon a little harder, the 2nd half was ankle deep mud and lots of wet rocks which slowed me down a lot as I had just over 40lbs on my back with my water and safety gear for the race but I still managed to come around 134 out of over 300 non-weighted runners with a finish time of 4hrs 21 minutes -not bad as it was all off road with about 900m of incline on a very wet day.

Sam Gunton is fundraising in memory of Conrad Lewis.

Jason Felstead is taking the plunge and doing the BUPA 10K.

2011 PARAS’ 10

An army of runners took the P Company Challenge at Paras’ 10, 2011:

Riccardo Falco’s Pegasus 619 CO19/SO6 team competed, with added motivation after one of last year’s runners Pat Burns lost a leg to an IED in Afghanistan.

Paul Lewis ran for a very personal reason –  in memory of nephew Conrad, killed in Helmand earlier this year with 3PARA. Son Miles Lewis, who has already done the Brit 10k this year is also running for Conrad.

Simon Crow edits Carptalk angling mag. He and mates ran Paras’ 10 for us.  And now a Charity fishing night in North Frodingham, Yorkshire, on 7th December 2011. Tickets are priced at £25 including buffet and restricted to 50 only. The night will feature talks by Julian Cundiff and Simon Crow, as well as a raffle. Use the link for contacts. Thanks guys, your support is terrific – good to see you are doing 2012 Paras’ 10 too.

Antonia Flockhart  writes: I have huge respect for the Paratrooper Regiment and all they do for us, it’s the very least I can do. I found the race really inspiring last year so wanted to do it again to give something back while beasting myself in the process….

Oliver Heyes has not only run Paras’ 10 but he has also completed a 30 mile Tab on the Brecon Beacons ‘along an unknown route with 40lbs plus food, water, boots and warm kit, and hitting plenty of peaks’. Oliver is continuing to support us with other events!

Gary Lee, ex-2PARA is doing British 10k, Paras10 and The Grim Challenge, all in boots and 35lb bergen, so deserves your support; Daryl Chard also did Brit 10k and has come back for more.

Julie Cowie and Tommy Meenagh, ‘Team Nosofast’  did it ’for Scott (who we know will be doing it next year!!) and in loving memory of Pte Martin Bell.

Red Devils Sky Diving

Alex Clarke, Jen Doyle and Jo Wickham from Penguin publishing all jumped with the Red Devils and raised £2145. Parent company Pearson kindly matched their sponsorship with a corporate matching donation.

Alasdair Macdonald ran the Kuala Lumpur Marathon for us in 90 degrees heat and humidity, having just got off a plane from UK and raised nearly £4000. So not just Mad Dogs and Englishmen, but Scots too. Support him on Justgiving before he melts. Thanks Ali.

Terry Lowe did London to Southend 54 mile cycle ride for us. Terry was 4 coy 10 Bn  85-90 says ’nice to help out the boys, every one I know from then wishes they could be out there with them!’ Support Tel’s ride for Paras here.
